Surviving Seville: A Scorching Day in Spain's Jewel

When I saw 50 degrees Celsius on my car dashboard, I thought, "There is no way I am getting out of this car." Walking the streets of Seville in such heat, especially with my camera gear, seemed impossible.

We parked in an underground garage in the middle of town and went for a hot walk around the city center. The famous Plaza de España, usually super crowded, looked like a zombie land. Only a few people were brave or foolish enough to walk through it in such heat. I remember learning to walk in the shadows, feeling like a vampire avoiding the sun. The ground was scorching anywhere without shade, making it almost impossible to stay out in the open.

We walked through the charming streets, admiring the beautiful architecture and historic buildings. The heat was so intense, but the beauty of Seville, lot's of water and 50+ sun cream kept us going.

Despite the heat, it was absolutely worth the effort, the Plaza de España is one of the most beautiful places in Spain. Seeing it empty, without people, and being able to take pictures without strangers in the frame, made it all worthwhile.
